Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated August 24, 2026

This policy explains how Puzzle Knight handles information when you organize and play puzzles at puzzleknight.win. Puzzle Knight can be used as a local guest without creating an account. Google sign-in is optional.

Information we handle

Guest information stored on your device

As a guest, your puzzle library, Include selections, playlist order, puzzle-completion state, lifetime completion totals, original-puzzle daily scores and completion dates, perfect-puzzle and perfect-day results, categories, display preferences, and other settings are stored in your browser using local storage. This information normally stays on that device and is not an account with Puzzle Knight.

Optional Google account information

If you choose to sign in with Google, Puzzle Knight receives your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image URL. Puzzle Knight also records when the account was created, the most recent Google sign-in, the version of the Terms you accepted, and when you accepted it so account access, consent, and synchronization can be managed. Puzzle Knight does not upload or store a separate custom profile image. Puzzle Knight does not receive your Google password and does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services.

Information you choose to synchronize

If you accept the sync prompt, Puzzle Knight stores your puzzle library, playlist order, Include selections, current completion state, aggregate lifetime completion counts, and related settings in its hosted database. When a signed-in player completes a Puzzle Knight original game, Puzzle Knight stores the puzzle type, puzzle key, date, score, maximum score, completion time, whether the puzzle was perfect, and whether all available original puzzles formed a perfect day. Puzzle Knight does not store guesses, answers entered, a step-by-step play history, or streaks.

Optional public leaderboard information

Public leaderboards are disabled by default and are available only to signed-in users who opt in. If you opt in, Puzzle Knight publicly displays your chosen public display name, score, rank, perfect-puzzle count, and number of scored days for the selected leaderboard period or puzzle. Your Google email address, Google profile image, account identifier, guesses, and private library are not displayed. Public display names must be unique.

Technical information

Cloudflare, which hosts Puzzle Knight, may process information such as IP address, browser and device details, request timing, security events, and diagnostic logs to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. When you ask Puzzle Knight to import a puzzle website, the server fetches that public page to read metadata such as its title, description, favicon, and preview image.

How information is used

  • Provide and remember your library, playlist, settings, and completion totals.
  • Authenticate signed-in users and restrict creator-only catalog controls.
  • Show original-puzzle scores, past-puzzle completion status, perfect puzzles, perfect days, and opt-in public leaderboards.
  • Synchronize data across devices when you choose account sync.
  • Operate, protect, diagnose, and improve Puzzle Knight.
  • Display and measure advertising where permitted.

Cookies and similar storage

Puzzle Knight uses browser local storage for guest and device preferences. Signed-in users receive a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that lasts for up to 30 days unless they sign out or it expires. Google Identity Services and advertising providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their policies.

Advertising

Puzzle Knight uses Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may process cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, ad interactions, and similar information to deliver, limit, personalize where allowed, and measure advertisements. Learn more in Google’s explanation of data use on partner sites and Google My Ad Center.

Where required, visitors should be offered choices before non-essential advertising technologies are used. Your browser settings and Google controls may provide additional cookie and advertising choices.

When information is shared

Puzzle Knight does not sell your personal information. If you opt into leaderboards, the public leaderboard information described above is shared with visitors. Other information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the site, including Cloudflare for hosting, security, logging, and database services; Google for optional sign-in and advertising; Wikidata and TVmaze for movie, television, and video-game title suggestions; and a public puzzle website when you choose to open it. When you use title suggestions, only the title text you have typed and the requested title type are sent by Puzzle Knight’s server to the relevant title-data provider. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, Puzzle Knight, or others.

External puzzle websites

Puzzle Knight links to independent puzzle websites and may display their publicly available names, descriptions, favicons, or preview artwork. Those websites are not controlled by Puzzle Knight and have their own terms and privacy practices. Opening a puzzle sends you to that independent website.

Retention and deletion

Guest information remains in your browser until you clear site data or remove it through browser controls. Synchronized account information is retained while the account feature is used or as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service. Account settings let you clear external and original completion totals. Opting out of leaderboards removes the account from future public leaderboard responses but retains private score records unless you clear them. Authorized owner tools can export, reset, or delete an account when responding to an account-management request. Deleting an account removes its profile and synchronized data from the active account tables; a minimal reset identifier may be retained so previously signed-in browsers can be cleared safely. You may sign out without deleting the local copy on your device. To request access to or deletion of synchronized account information, email VastGridOfficial@gmail.com from the Google address associated with the account.

Your choices and rights

You can use Puzzle Knight without Google sign-in, decline account synchronization, keep public leaderboards disabled, opt out after joining, change your public display name, change your library and playlist, reset current completion state, sign out, clear browser storage, and adjust Google advertising controls. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection concerning personal information.

Security

Puzzle Knight uses reasonable safeguards such as encrypted HTTPS connections, secure session cookies, server-side authorization, and owner-only account-management tools. Delegated administrators cannot open the player-account list or use account export, reset, or deletion controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Puzzle Knight is a general-audience puzzle organizer and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, use the support contact described above.

International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between those locations.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Puzzle Knight’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised, and the current version will remain available at this address.
